Question |
Answer |
| |
| | Are all animals spayed or neutered?
Yes. Puppies and kittens are held until they are old enough to have this procedure and all adults are spayed or neutered before they are put up for adoption. |
| | Are you a no kill facility?
Yes. This means that we do not euthanize an animal to make room for another. We do believe in euthanizing an animal that is suffering from an illness or disease with no hope of recovery, or in the event that an animal is aggressive to the point of being a danger to a person or other animal and all means have been exhausted to correct the problem. |
| | Are you funded by the county, state, or federal government?
No. We depend on donations from our local community to support our rescue efforts. |
| | What are your hours?
24/7. Our job is to care for the animals. Adoption interviews are by appointment. |
| | What do I have to do to adopt an animal from PLAR?
We have an adoption application that needs to be completed and approved, and an adoption fee. The fee for dogs is $80 and $65 for cats. Adoption fees for horses range from $250 and up. |
| | What happens if the animal I adopt does not work out?
We do our best to adopt our animals to well matched homes. However, if you cannot keep the animal, we ask that he/she be returned to us so we can help find the right situation for him/her. |
